We take responsibility
At I-Tech, we integrate responsible business practices, legal commitments and human and environmental protection in our strategic decisions and in our daily work on a long-term basis.
Regulatory approvals
Selektope® is approved for use as an active antifouling agent in all important markets for both newbuild vessel construction and dry docking of existing vessels.
Selektope® fulfils the IMO criteria for approved antifouling compounds, and can therefore, be used without limitations on vessels with global routes. Within the EU, Selektope® is approved for use in all relevant antifouling products.
The areas marked in dark green on the map have none or very limited legal requirements for antifouling substances.
Certified production
Selektope® is produced by manufacturers certified according to ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001.
Our manufacturers are suppliers to some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies and has been selected following extensive evaluation processes.
We continuously conduct audits to ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the requirements of I-Tech and the company’s stakeholders.
Our work to support vital healthcare provision in Africa
In 2019, we forged a partnership with Mercy Ships Sweden to support their charity work. By donating our technology for use on their new hospital ship, Global Mercy, and in future for other ships in their fleet, we are ensuring that the ship does not suffer the negative cost impacts associated with barnacle fouling on the hull.
Mercy Ships is a charitable organisation whose volunteers provide medical treatment and undertake urgent operations onboard hospital ships docked at local ports in some of the poorest countries in the world.
